Training & Certification

Your Home Check America inspector, is highly trained and most qualified inspector in the business.  Our inspectors have college or advanced degrees and years of inspecting experience, and our inspectors train six (6) times longer than the average inspector in the State of Illinois.

This doesn't mean that we will necessarily find more things wrong with your home. It does mean that he will be able to explain what is happening and why.  Wouldn't you rather have an inspector on your side that can tell you what is really a problem and what is just a minor maintenance concern? Wouldn't a lesser trained inspector who misdiagnosis's something make you look rather foolish to the other party, their attorney and the other agent?

College Educated.  Our inspectors have college and/or advanced degrees.  Communication in our business is really important, especially if their are problems later and you might need your inspector to appear in court.  Who would you rather have representing you in court?

InterNACHI members. We are all full members of the National Association of Certified Home Inspectors.  We complete all the continuing education classes and annual exams they require. Only 47% pass the annual exam. None of our inspectors have ever failed it, scoring no less than a 93 percent answers correct. In addition, all InterNACHI members must obtain at a minimum 24 hours of continuing education per year.  Also, members are mandated to pass the yearly exam and subscribe to the Code of Ethics, which are more stringent than the State of Illinois regulations.

Experienced.  We have performed hundreds of inspections.  Each home is unique, having inspected more homes than most inspectors, gives us an advantage we pass on to you.  Some inspection companies send out two "inspectors", giving you the impression that the job will be more complete.  But the second non-licensed apprentice helping them is usually a distraction for the licensed inspector that is training them.  Things can be missed, coordination more difficult, and we have found these inspections are usually less thorough.  It's like having too many cooks in the kitchen so to speak.

State licensed. All our inspectors have to pass the state exam and maintain our license with continuing education classes.  No Home Check America inspector has EVER failed the state exam on the first try, not even once.  Some inspectors have to take the test multiple times before they pass it.

To summarize, our competition trains their inspectors with a week long seminar that they sponsor, we train differently, and it has proven to be a significant advantage to you, our client.  You may be able to find someone cheaper than Home Check America, but you won't find anyone more qualified.

Choose wisely, because your peace of mind matters.
